A Note from Father Damian
Welcome to the Holy Family Parish website. Like Joseph, Mary and Jesus, we strive to know and do the will of God. Of course, we would appreciate one of those visits by angels or maybe a dream with some clear and direct instructions. Until then, we walk by faith – yes, we walk; we do not sit idle as we wait on the Lord. Faith walks. Saint Paul tells the Galatians that the only thing that counts for anything is “faith working through love.” He tells the Ephesians that we exist for the praise of God’s glory. I hope you find our website both interesting and inviting. Our location is quietly tucked away from the bustle and noise of the main street scenes. Once again, welcome to our website. May it lead you to our actual site!
Prayerfully,
Fr. Damian
Statement of Mission
The mission of Holy Family Parish is to bring the message of Jesus Christ to people and thus to unite them into a witnessing community-family that is Christcentric. We recognize that the focal point of parish life and endeavor is Christ’s presence with us in the Eucharist, where as a community family, encouraged by the word of God, we publicly witness in the Supreme act of worship and whence we derive our strength as we partake of the Sacred Food.
The Mission, thus given and accepted at our communal offering, is then transmitted into the homes and from there into our community.
The mission to teach as Jesus did is primarily the duty of our Christian parents, strengthened by the Sacramental graces and aided by their priests. The faith and morals thus taught is activated through Christian love into community service. To better fulfill its mission of service, the parish will provide organizations where all age groups of the Parish family would have the support of their peers in witnessing to the love of God through love of one another. The formation and involvement of the children and youth in this mission is of primary importance and is achieved through a thorough Christian education program. Thus prepared and fortified in our Christian commitment, the Parish family must become involved in the work of evangelization, obeying Christ’s command to “Go into the world and proclaim the Good News to all men.”
