Outreach

Care and Comfort Ministry
This committees mission is to provide support to the(Care and Comfort Ministry) bereaved family and comfort to the sick and shut-in.

This support is manifested through a team effort. The family makes initial contact with the pastor. Members of the ministry then help the family by: assisting in the preparation of the wake and funeral services; assuming liturgical role(s) as needed; sharing repast information; setting up the eating facility and serving the family and guests. Other tasks are performed to provide comfort to the bereaved family through this process.

Sick and Shut-Ins
The Sick and Shut-In arm maintains contact with the sick and shut-ins through visitations, cards of encouragement, and assistance with personal needs if possible.

*All Care & Comfort Ministry members are willing servants to assist you. Please call the rectory at 301-894-2222 before any arrangements have been made.

Communications and Outreach
The mission of the Holy Family Communications and (Communications and Outreach)Outreach Committee is to contribute to the spiritual life of the parish by promoting communication within the parish family, as well as, interested audiences outside of the parish.  The committee is dedicated to the Catholic faith and strives to ensure that its work reflects the essential and fundamental doctrines of our faith. This committee focuses on identifying parish communication needs and issues and will address them through appropriate responses that the committee deems neccessary.

Pastoral Care of the Sick
This ministry exist to give spiritual care to our parishioners.  We visit the sick, those who are homebound, those in adult homes or nursing homes.  We also visit people after they have been hospitalized.

When the church cares for the sick, it serves Christ himself in the suffering member of His Mystical Body.  The church shows this by visiting those in poor health, and by nourishing them with the Eucharist during those illnesses.  Please call the parish office at 301-894-2222 about receiving services from this ministry or volunteering.
