Men’s Club
The Holy Family Men’s Club, currently comprising of
approximately twenty (20) men, is dedicated to giving assistance to the overall mission of Holy Family Church. It serves as a viable entity of the parish’s life and serves as a major supporter of other organizations in the church and school communities.
Recently, the Men’s Club purchased and installed a new sound system for the Allen Drury Room, as well as the lights for the ball in the center of the Room. They have held annual New Year’s Eve affair and prepare and serve a Mother’s Day breakfast for all the parishioners and their families. Every school year, the Men’s Club presents Scholarship Awards to graduates from Holy Family School and parishioners graduating from area Senior High Schools. In recent years they have held successful “Crab Feast” raffle, other raffles and sponsored Jazz shows, all to help fund the scholarship awards and other gifts/purchases to the church and school.
The Men’s Club is always looking for men, over 21 years of age, to join them in assisting the parish. There is always lots of fun and brotherhood displayed at their meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Allen Drury Room. For more information contact Arnold Cole, President, through the rectory at 301-894-2222.
Sodality
The ladies of the parish sodality meet each month to
increase their love for God through prayer and works of charity. As members of the Sodality Union of Washington, D. C. they do charitable works for the parish including scholarships, recognition of elderly parishioners, shawls for shut ins, retreats, Father's Day breakfast annually and sponsor fundraisers for Parish projects. Youth Ministry
Holy Family Teen Club is an organization of youth brought together to fellowship in religious, service and fun activities. The teen club has members ranging from 11 to 17 years old, with Andrea Hooker as their Advisor. We participate in such activities as going bowling, to the movies and visiting haunted houses just to name a few. At least once a month the teen club holds a bake sale after the 11:00 a.m. Mass to raise funds for the committee. The baked goods are homemade by the teens and the entire congregation looks forward to the sweet fundraiser. We meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Sunday. The club is always looking for new members and new advisors! Come join us.
