Sunday Ministries

Altar Servers
The Altar Servers of Holy Family are responsible for(Altar Servers) assisting the priest at the Altar during the Sacred Liturgy.  Those called to this office are required to assist the priest during various functions of the Mass itself, especially during the offertory. In addition, should there be some aspect of the Mass that requires unforseen and immediate assistance, it is the Altar Server who will work to make certain that the Mass goes on as it should.

Liturgy Committee
The Holy Family Liturgy Committee, in conjunction with the Pastor and various(Eucharistic Ministers) ministries, plan appropriate activities and services to increase spiritual growth.

The Liturgy Committee consists of the following ministries: Sacristans, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Altar Servers, Gospel Choir, Cantors, Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers), Church Environment and Formation. These committee members are responsible for the planning and preparation of meaningful liturgical and sacramental celebrations. A voting me(Lectors)mber of the Pastoral Council chairs this committee.

If you have questions or would like additional information about the Holy Family Liturgy Committee, please contact Ms. Robbie Edmonds or the rectory at 301-894-2222.

Gospel Choir
Since 1984, the mission of the Holy Family Gospel (Holy Family Gospel Choir)Choir is to glorify Jesus Christ in song by allowing Him to use the choir as a tool, working through each choir member.  By providing inspiration to the congregation and enhancing the celebration of the mass, we will be a family of believers centered on Christ and committed to a lifetime of service and success.  All singers, ages 15 and over are welcome; no auditions are needed.  Our music ministry currently provides musical leadership on the second, third and forth Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. Mass along with select holy days and special celebration (e.g. Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Holy Week, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).
